Guilherme Lima was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. "Gui" moved to the United States to attend Wingate in 2009 where were he played collegiate soccer with a full scholarship.

In addition playing soccer for Wingate University, Gui also played Youth Professional Soccer for Santos F.C, Pao de Acucar Academy, and Pequeninos do Joquey in Brazil.
